Position Professional Development Associate 2021-22 Bio/Description I’m an experimental cosmology PhD candidate in the Physics Department and a Professional Development Associate with the GradFUTURES team. My science research focuses on the consistency of the cosmological Lambda-CDM model. Currently, I’m working on two telescope projects -- Spider and SuperBIT; the former attempts to isolate the fingerprint of primordial gravitational waves in the Cosmic Microwave Background, and the goal of later is to provide insight into the distribution of dark matter in galaxy clusters and throughout the large-scale structure of the universe. Outside the office, I enjoy playing tennis. "As a Professional Development Associate, I’m looking forward to collaborating with the team to provide PhDs in Natural Sciences, including myself, with comprehensive preparation for and smooth transition to workplaces, both in academia and in industry. Through the one-week course Accelerated Business Skills for PhDs, not only did I learn a huge amount of professional knowledge which would take months to accumulate by myself, I also had the opportunities to refresh myself of the power of cross-disciplinary collaboration and the importance of multidisciplinary communication. The course also connected me with many great graduate students and enlarged my professional network. Therefore, I would highly recommend the course to other graduate fellows."
