Position health policy, NJ Executive Branch – Human Services Role Eagleton Science and Politics Fellow Bio/Description Shin-Yi Lin MOL *11 did academic lab research for twenty years in the fields of developmental biology, genetics, and evolution. In 2019, she was selected as an inaugural Eagleton Science and Politics Fellow -- a new science policy program housed at Rutgers University to place scientists in NJ state government to support evidence-based policy making. She then, she’s continued working in health care policy within the NJ-Department of Human Services for NJ FamilyCare, NJ's Medicaid / CHIP health insurance that covers over 2 million NJ residents. She's specifically working in the field of maternal health policy to improve birth-related care for mothers, babies, and their families. Shin-Yi’s work has been aligned with NurtureNJ, First Lady of NJ Tammy Murphy’s statewide initiative to reduce racial health disparities for NJ's birthing individuals.
