Position GradFUTURES Fellow Bio/Description Pallavi R. Podapati is a PhD Candidate in the History of Science Program at Princeton. Her research interests include disability, medicine, technology, the body, and labor. "My fellowship with the American Society on Aging focused my thinking on larger sociopolitical issues and allowed me to apply my research in rewarding ways, all while collaborating with a fantastic team of dedicated individuals. GradFUTURES is creating invaluable opportunities for graduate students to develop their confidence through these placements. This fellowship included participating a series of meetings with organizational and community leaders on the challenges the pandemic presented/presents for congregate meals. The second project involved the creation of a tip sheet for the media sector on non-ageist practices. The project that will carry me through the remainder of the fall semester is another document that provides best practices and considerations for individuals in the tech industry that will help them center older people in their design process."
