I have been teaching at Mercer County Community College for 14 years. I started out as a Sociology major in college. At the time, I loved math but did not want to teach. A year out of college I decided to get a Master's in Math Education and it was the best decision I made. I taught math at the high school level for three years, took a break to have my kids, and then got back into teaching at the college level. I teach foundation-level math as well as pre-calculus. In addition to teaching, I am a course coordinator and truly enjoy working with the adjunct faculty. I also participate in several committees across the college.
"'You are responsible for the energy you bring into your space'" is one of my favorite quotes, and this holds true in the math class. I tell my students that regardless of how good they are at math, being positive about their performance affects the outcome of their learning just as much as being negative about it does."
I have participated in the following GradFUTURES Programs: Community College Teaching Fellowship Program
