Emre Turkoz earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, and also was a University Administrative Fellow in the Program for Community-Engaged Scholarship (ProCES).
My mentor was Trisha Thorme. I also had the opportunity to work with Maria Lockwood and Leah Anderson during my time as UAF. My UAF experience gave me the opportunity to be exposed to what's happening behind the scenes - how important the administrative staff is for the university to function. During my time as UAF, I had the opportunity to take part in the day-to-day activities of the ProCES office and also run my own project on the side. The ProCES staff has provided me all of the resources I need. I'd recommend future graduate students to take part in the UAF program - this program gives an inside look to university administration and has made me appreciate the effort put by the administrative staff to make things run smoothly at Princeton. I believe this is a very valuable experience for graduate students, especially those that want to pursue an academic career.
