Bio/Description

I earned my B.S. in Chemical Engineering at University of Rochester, where I also played volleyball and tennis, after growing up in Tampa, FL. I am a white and Hispanic woman in STEM, and I am passionate about promoting diversity in my field and environment more broadly. No one in my family has pursued a Ph.D., and I am excited to utilize campus resources that can help enhance my technical and not so technical skills.

"The GradFUTURES Learning Cohorts help me connect with people outside of my department, learn about campus resources, and learn information and vocabulary that are vital to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The Navigating Your First Year in Grad School Learning Cohort helped me connect with graduate students outside of my department and better understand the hidden curriculum of grad school. It enhanced my comfort level with campus resources, which will have a lasting positive impact on my journey through graduate school and into my career.

The Inclusive Leadership Learning Cohort was a good opportunity for me to discuss information and vocabulary that promotes diversity and inclusion, which I will further develop throughout my life and career."

I have participated in the following GradFUTURES Programs:
