Effective Mentorship Skills for Graduate Students

Overview

As part of ReMatch Plus mentorship program training, GradFUTURES is hosting series of workshops on effective mentorship skills for all graduate students who serve as mentors for undergraduate researchers. 

The training involves weekly workshops led by guest facilitators on Wednesdays, 12-2 pm between May 14-June 14 and biweekly peer discussions in July. 

Graduate Students who complete series, assignments and final deliverable (mentorship statement) are eligible for a micro-credential (mentorship digital badge). Food included.

  • Setting goals, expectations and group culture: Rebecca Burdine (MOL)
  • Giving and receiving feedback: Shaofei Lu and Ransford Pinto (McGraw)
  • Mentoring for effective research communication: Penelope Georges and Vivian Feng (CST)
  • Time Management: Jean Tom (CBE)
