Learn from graduate alumni leaders in the academic, public, and private sectors. Join us for a conversation with Patrice Jean *99 in Julis Romo Rabinowitz A17, followed by a reception in the Weickart Atrium of the Louis A. Simpson Building with wine, hors d'oeuvres and desserts.

Patrice P. Jean is an intellectual property attorney and a partner in the law firm Hughes Hubbard & Reed where she serves as co-chair of the Life Sciences group. She has over a decade of experience counseling leading and startup companies in all areas of intellectual property law. In particular, she is adept at asserting and defending the patent and trademark rights underlying the core technologies and innovations of leading pharmaceutical, chemical and biotechnology companies. Prior to attending Columbia Law School, Jean earned her Ph.D. in molecular biology from Princeton University and a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Xavier University of Louisiana. 

Themes of her talk will include inclusive and culturally competent leadership, combining a Ph.D. and J.D., and biotech and pharma innovation.
