The Women’s Association of Venture and Equity (WAVE) is delighted to announce that we will host our Fourth Annual Career Forum on November 13th, 2020.  The format will be very similar to last year’s event and will include Speakers, Panelists, Roundtables, and a Career Expo for the scholars to speak one-on-one with the various firms in attendance.  We were so impressed with the high caliber of candidates that applied last year and hope to further increase awareness for this year’s event.  The application period for students is expected to be mid-August through mid-September and accepted candidates will be notified in early October. Note that we will only be able to accept a limited number of the applicants and preference may be given to those that apply earlier in the process. For 2020, WAVE will once again offer travel stipends and cover the cost of hotel rooms for students traveling from outside the New York City area.

As you are considering whether to again participate in this event, we thought it might be helpful to share a few data points from last year’s forum:

-        602 women applied to attend the forum as a scholar (approximately 45% undergraduate, 44% graduate, 11% professionals), from more than 70 different universities in the United States, Canada and Europe

-        55% of these applicants were invited to participate and 46.5% ultimately attended the event (280 total); all scholars were included in a resume book that was provided to our sponsors, regardless if they attended the event

-        Through the support of our sponsors, WAVE was able to provide students traveling from outside of NYC with travel stipends and complimentary hotel rooms as needed.

o   65% of the attendees were provided with complimentary hotel rooms and

o   73% of the attendees were provided with travel stipends
