Navigating Your First Year in Graduate School: A GradFUTURES Learning Cohort

Mon, Sep 28, 2020, 12:00 pm

First-year graduate students, join us for a new GradFUTURES Learning Cohort specially designed for you based on the new Princeton University Press book A Field Guide To Grad School: Uncovering the Hidden Curriculum by Dr. Jessica McCray Calarco (Associate Professor of Sociology at Indiana University). Each graduate student who signs-up will commit to attending all eight sessions through the 2020-21 academic year and will receive a complimentary copy of the book! A sample of the themes of this learning cohort include: deciphering academic and Princeton jargon; balancing teaching, research, service and life; building your team of mentors and advisors; finding funding; talking about your research; and engaging in professional development to broaden your experience while in graduate school.

The introductory session is scheduled for September 28th from Noon-1 pm virtually.
