It’s about learning how to connect and have an impact every time you speak. This two-day intensive is not a public speaking course but rather a program intended to help you speak confidently in a range of communication situations and to do so in ways that enhance your ability to create impact, influence, and connection. Facilitator Jo McGinley has more than 3 decades of experience working with renowned academics, C-suite executives, Olympic athletes, startup founders and nonprofit leaders to help them become powerful and engaged communicators. She is a certified practitioner of brain-based speaking and coaching. The foundation of brain-based coaching is the simple but profound concept that we talk to minds and that successful communication involves shifting our focus to how the listener's brain absorbs information. The world’s best communicators do not focus on communication as a means to get their ideas OUT—instead—they communicate in ways that get their ideas INTO others’ minds! What to Expect: · Learn the fundamentals of the brain-based speaking philosophy in this highly interactive and personalized workshop intensive. · Evaluate your current speaking habits and practice by applying new techniques and mindsets to incrementally improve your communication from Day 1 to Day 2. (Two powerful content creation and storytelling models are introduced, so there is a perfect blend of practicing brain-based speaking while delivering meaningful content to your listener.) · Receive 1:1 coaching every step of the way to ensure a measurable difference in your speaking from Day 1 through the end of Day 2. (Through the course of the workshop, participants will be filmed four times. The difference from your first film to the final film will be significant. All films are viewed and immediately discarded for privacy.) Accessibility To request accommodations for this or any event, please contact the organizer or James M. Van Wyck at least 3 working days prior to the event.
