On the Record: Media Training 101 for Graduate Students

Details

Event Description

Gain the confidence and skills you need to convey your messages effectively through the media. It's perfectly normal to feel nervous about being interviewed by a journalist, but planning and preparation can help ensure your knowledge and expertise shines through. Learn best practices from three communications professionals who have worked as journalists and now represent the University in the media. This workshop will be useful for researchers, faculty members, graduate students, graduate alums, postdocs, and administrators -- anyone who wants to feel more confident when a reporter says: "I've just got a few questions."

This event is part of the 2024 GradFUTURES Forum: Building Clarity, Confidence, and Connections, a weeklong professional development conference for graduate students offering opportunities for meaningful professional growth and exploration of futures within and beyond the academy. With many inspiring keynote speakers, interactive workshops, career panels, and networking receptions, the 2024 GradFUTURES is open to the broader graduate community at Princeton and beyond.
