In this series, you will self-reflect, identify your professional interests and future possibilities, and come away with lots of affirmation, allies, and approaches! Participants of this program will receive a copy of "Next Gen PhD: A Guide to Career Paths in Science" by Melanie V. Sinche. Postdocs are welcome to join. Learning goals: You will learn and discuss how to- identify pathways that resonate with you, build and leverage connections to explore options, develop and translate skills and experiences for multiple future/s create goals and plans for professional development and lifelong learning Part 2: In the second part, you will learn ways to research professions by mining job descriptions and talking to graduate alumni and other professionals in fields of interest. Researching professions will involve learning about skills and experiences that are desired in various occupations, broadening your outlook of the value of graduate training in the workforce. Forging connections with graduate alumni (e.g. through the GradFUTURES Mentorship program and other graduate alumni engagement opportunities) can provide access to diverse mentors.
