Event Description
The Future Faculty series for science and engineering is designed for graduate students and postdocs who are a few years from the faculty job market. This series will provide clarity of faculty life in diverse institutions, revealing essential skills and mindsets for career success. Through data-transparency, a systems lens, and knowledge of resources and opportunities, you can craft an intentional plan for professional development, while learning from Princeton faculty, staff and alumni who serve as faculty in diverse institutions. 
The 2024 cohort of Future Faculty series for science and engineering graduate students and postdocs is scheduled on July 29-31 12-4 pm. The series will wrap with a reception on July 31 at 4 pm.

Day 1: Faculty Landscape, hiring metrics, Funding, and Open Science
Day 1 of Future Faculty series for science and engineering will include following topics:
•    the landscape of faculty roles in diverse institutions (R1, liberal arts college and community colleges)
•    funding: sources, discovery, lifecycle, resources and support
•    open science, research transparency and reproducibility
•    success metrics: data-driven insights and survey-based hiring trends
