This series will provide clarity of faculty life in diverse institutions, revealing essential skills and mindsets for career success. Through data-transparency, a systems lens, and knowledge of resources and opportunities, you can craft an intentional plan for professional development, while learning from Princeton faculty, staff and alumni who serve as faculty in diverse institutions. The 2024 cohort of Future Faculty series for science and engineering graduate students and postdocs is scheduled on July 29-31 12-4 pm. The series will wrap with a reception on July 31 at 4 pm. Day 1: Faculty Landscape, hiring metrics, Funding, and Open Science Day 1 of Future Faculty series for science and engineering will include following topics: • the landscape of faculty roles in diverse institutions (R1, liberal arts college and community colleges) • funding: sources, discovery, lifecycle, resources and support • open science, research transparency and reproducibility • success metrics: data-driven insights and survey-based hiring trends Speakers: - Chris Smith, Postdoctoral Affairs Program Administrator, Virginia Tech - Elizabeth Adams, PU-Director of Office of Research & Project Administration - Meghan Testerman, Behavioral Science Librarians, Data, Research and Teaching Services, PU Library Sonali Majumdar, Assistant Dean of Professional Development, PU Graduate School Lunch will be served.
