Date Nov 28, 2023, 11:30 am – 12:30 pm Location Friend 009, Friend 009, Princeton, United States Related link More details in My PrincetonU Share on X Share on Facebook Share on LinkedIn Details Event Description Join us over lunch to discuss how an astrophysicist Paul Sutter collaborated with the artistic directors of SYREN Modern Dance to create "Ticktock", a performance using narrative sections, Mozart, and movement to explore time. The performance explores several complex science concepts, like entropy, relativity, and the arrow of time, as well as humanistic and personal experiences of time like memory, loss, and anticipation for the future. We will discuss how scientists and artists can work with each other and learn from each other, tips on how to build collaborations across disciplines, and how this kind of thinking can benefit you as a scientist. We will conclude with a science/dance movement exercise for the audience to participate in.
