Essentials of Funding a Startup

Details

Event Description
Learn the essentials when it comes to sources of startup capital, what venture capital firms look for in a startup, and the key components of a startup pitch deck. A growing number of startups are emerging from universities and research institutes — young enterprises that are accelerating innovation and changing the game in entrepreneurship and in every field imaginable. Increasingly, graduate students are the founders behind these new businesses. At Princeton, there is a robust innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem that connects graduate students, postdocs, alumni, faculty, venture capitalists, and industry.

Alums Mark Poag and Jim Cohen, General Partners of Fitz Gate Ventures and leaders of the Princeton GradFUTURES Venture Capital and Startups Learning Cohort will provide an introduction to the lingo, the economics, the process, and the landscape.
