This series will provide clarity of faculty life in diverse institutions, revealing essential skills and mindsets for career success. Through data-transparency, a systems lens, and knowledge of resources and opportunities, you can craft an intentional plan for professional development, while learning from Princeton faculty, staff and alumni who serve as faculty in diverse institutions. The 2023 cohort of Future Faculty series for science and engineering graduate students and postdocs is scheduled on Aug 7-Aug 9, 12-4 pm. The series will wrap with a reception on Aug 9 at 4.30 pm.Day 1: Faculty Landscape, Funding, and Open Science Day 1 of Future Faculty series for science and engineering on Aug 7 between 12-4 pm will include following topics: The landscape of faculty roles in diverse institutions (R1, liberal arts college and community colleges) Funding: sources, discovery, lifecycle, resources and support Open Science, research transparency and reproducibility Success metrics: data-driven insights on hiring trends and profiles of successful faculty hires in diverse institutions by Academic Analytics Speakers: Alexandra “Sacha” Patera, PU-Corporate Engagement and Foundation Relations Elizabeth Adams, PU-Director of Office of Research & Project Administration Jason Sullivan, Data Analyst, Academic Analytics Meghan Testerman, Behavioral Science Librarians, Data, Research and Teaching Services, PU Library Sonali Majumdar, Assistant Dean of Professional Development, PU Graduate School Lunch will be served.
