Her research explores the relationship between ritual, gender, and violence in ancient Judaism and early Christianity. A publicly engaged scholar, she co-hosts Women Who Went Before (WWWB), a podcast highlighting women in ancient Mediterranean history. Now in its second season, WWWB ranks among the top ten percent of podcasts globally. Rebekah is currently a Lecturer and Postgraduate Research Associate at Princeton’s Department of Religion.Rebekah is deeply committed to academic exchange and cross-cultural dialogue. As a 2017-18 Fulbright Scholar at Hebrew University in Israel, she studied the Dead Sea Scrolls in Jerusalem. She now serves on the board of the Israel interest group for the Fulbright Association.Rebekah has received several GradFUTURES fellowships, including a Social Impact Fellowship in 2020 and University Administrative Fellowships in 2021-2022 and 2024-2025. As a senior coordinator for GradFUTURES’ Studio for New Media & Public Scholarship and a Research Fellow at New America’s Center for Education and Labor, she developed a deep commitment to adapting higher education to better serve 21st-century students and diverse communities across the United States.After participating in the Inclusive Leadership Learning Cohort in 2021 and receiving a Community College Teaching Fellowship in 2022, Rebekah founded the Princeton Religious Literary Program (PRLP). PRLP prepares Princeton undergraduate students to engage respectfully with an array of religious traditions and practices as members of an interconnected global workforce. The program hosts panels with Princeton Alumni, as well as workshops that provide PhD students an opportunity to explore applied and pluralistic approaches to teaching. For the 2024-25 academic year, the PRLP partnered with Interfaith America to explore religion's role in fostering civic engagement and dialogue across political divides.Rebekah is also an advocate for publicly engaged scholarship. In 2025, she is serving as the Professional Development Associate for Public Humanities at GradFUTURES. She also co-authored an article for Ancient Jew Review, titled “Possibilities in the Past: The Challenges and Payoffs of Public Scholarship,” which explores the role of public scholarship in both academia and broader society. Through her research, teaching, and public engagement, Rebekah continues to bridge the gap between academia and the public, fostering meaningful conversations on religion, history, and civic engagement.“Taking part in the GradFUTURES Fellowship program was an enriching experience both professionally and personally.
