Bio/Description

Through our partnership with the Rita Allen Foundation, Rebecca is part of a national cohort of Civic Science Fellows engaging in 18-month-long projects across a variety of partner organizations and institutions with the goal of catalyzing civic science. In this role, Rebecca is working on several data projects and analyses to better understand the impact of holistic professional development throughout the graduate student lifecycle and develop insights to inform efforts at Princeton and graduate institutions nationwide.

Rebecca’s interest in diverse career pathways for doctoral students, as well as institutional and curricular innovations in support of equitable outcomes for all graduate students, was spurred during her graduate work at New York University. Among other fellowships, Rebecca served as the Innovation and Career Initiative Fellow at the Modern Language Association through the NYU Public Humanities Initiative in Graduate Education. Previously, she was a lecturer at Brandeis University, where she taught ancient Greek language and history courses. She has also served as a field archaeologist and researcher on projects in Cyprus, Greece, and Italy.

Rebecca holds a Ph.D. in Classics from NYU, an M.A. in Classics and Graduate Certificate in Latin Studies from the University of Kentucky, and a B.A. in Classical Languages and History from Fordham College at Lincoln Center. Beyond work she can often be found wandering in museums, seeking out water vistas, attempting to teach her cat tricks, and crosswording.
