In the Office of Student Professional Development located in the Bronx, NY, the fellow will acquire invaluable experiences and training through active participation in various special events designed to provide professional development opportunities. The fellow will play an integral role in program planning and implementation by managing session logistics, designing and facilitating activities, conducting research, and evaluating outcomes. Additionally, collaborating with campus partners to improve program effectiveness and extend outreach efforts will be an essential aspect of this role. This presents an excellent opportunity for individuals who are seeking to deepen their understanding of higher education dynamics and cultures, while gaining insights into learning and professional development, leadership development, training, adult learning principles, session management, and effective programming strategies.Essential Functions and Responsibilities• Support the development and execution of professional development programming for graduate students, focusing on self-development, learning, career exploration and readiness, and networking opportunities.• Collaborate on curriculum design and planning for the Preparing Faculty Program (PFF) tailored to doctoral students.• Assist with logistics and organize GSAS events including the Welcome Reception, Alumni Networking, Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition, GSAS Research Day, and Research Conference.• Conduct research on market trends, emerging learning models, programing effectiveness, and relevant alumni employment data pertinent to professional development.• Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.QualificationsAn ideal fellow should have a keen interest in leadership and professional development, programming, teaching, and training. Excellent communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, project management abilities, and teamwork aptitude are indispensable. Experience with instructional design, website design, data analysis, video, and/or programming-related IT skills are a plus.
