I cannot recommend more strongly the importance of getting involved in something beyond your scholarly or research activities. Whether this be volunteering in a professional society or organization, a graduate student group, or your local community, engaging with others around a common cause builds your network, hones your professional skills, and provides additional meaning to your life.

I have been following Princeton GradFUTURES for some time now, including the promotion of the GradFUTURES Forum professional development events each spring. I look forward to contributing to the impactful career and professional development programming being offered at Princeton.
